Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a number of changes in industrial production. The principles of sustainable production are especially endangered. There have been problems of reducing recycling and increasing waste that was not previously represented, such as medical waste. The negative impact of the pandemic is evidenced by the visibly shaken automotive industry, as well as a large number of non-productive activities. The analytical approach provides an overview of potential measures that can mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the sustainability of production, which are in line with the changed working and business conditions. These measures are mostly related to digitalization in all areas, especially in waste management and treatment.
