Cognitive ergonomics focuses on the characteristics of human psychological workload, mental performance and reliability in work systems. The goal of the Master's thesis is to present the possibilities of assessing the psychological burden and mental performance of a person in the context of defined new psychosocial risks using cognitive ergonomics methods. Attention is drawn to some possibilities of a methodological approach to the assessment and optimization of mental workload and human reliability, with a presentation of the specifics of the selected methods for application in standard and extreme conditions of work performance. As the final part of the work, research was conducted on stress and other conditions at work and their impact on workers using an online questionnaire. The results of the survey showed which are the most prevalent emotions that workers experience at the workplace, as well as the way in which they express them. Also, the results provided insight into some conditions at work that can be improved.
