In each segment, both work and everyday life situations, assumptions and predictions are made about possible events in the future. The better the forecasting tasks are completed and the better the future is predicted, the more goal-oriented the decisions will be. For the reasons of responding more effectively to changes in demand, the aim of this paper was to point out new forecasting methods that are becoming more and more prevalent in practice.
The paper deals with the topic of future demand for products on the market in order to plan the optimal level of inventories that will be able to satisfy the production processes, bearing in mind that keeping unnecessary supplies in the warehouse of a manufacturing company can create additional costs and thus burden the company.
