CONTRIBUTION TO SYSTEMATIC DEVELOPMENT OF C&D WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

The task of the paper is to contribute to the systematic development of building waste management in the Republic of Serbia and to review the situation in the European Union. In the introductory part of the article, referring to the legal regulations, the terms from the area of waste management are defined in the Law on Waste Management ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 36/2009, 88/2010 and 14/2016). The paper presents an overview of the state of waste management in the territory of the European Union, the nature of Directive 2008/98 / EC and the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of construction waste. This paper analyzes the current position of the Republic of Serbia in the field of construction waste, then the solutions applied in other countries for the recycling of the most common building materials, as well as the shortcomings and recommendations for the proper handling of construction waste.
