ANALYSIS OF CYCLING INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN IN EUROPE WITH THE EXAMPLE OF DESIGNING OF CYCLE PATH

Abstract

Topic of the paper is the analysis of positive example of planning, designing, construction and maintenance of bicycle infrastructures. The two leading countries in terms of cycling infrastructure, Netherlands and Denmark, represent respectable examples of how it can and must be done. With all its beautis, Serbia has the potential to develop cycling infrastructure both in cities and outside of them, connecting villages, settlements and cities. In addition to the analysis, the process of designing bicycle infrastructure surfaces is presented, which must implement the basic requirements of bicycle infrastructure, safety, directness, integrity, attractiveness and comfort. The designing and construction of bicycle surfaces does not differ much from the design and construction of roads, so we can say that the same applies to both objects, and these are phases through which these actions take place, preparatory work, research work and work of base for designing, designing of bicycle surfaces and execution of works on construction of bicycle surfaces.
