Abstract

This paper presents the importance of solar energy, with a focus on dual axis systems for tracking the position of the Sun. With the help of the knowledge of the NOAA algorithm for tracking the position of the Sun in real time, the solution implemented in the form of a library on PLC controller is presented. Tracking is executed by calculating the azimuth and zenith angles. The choice of components of such a system as well as their network topology is presented. Also, some of the software solutions available on the world market have been emphasized. The obtained results are illustrated and compared with the available solutions. Based on the compared results, it is concluded that the implementation has been successfully implemented, with the possibility of further expansion.
