Abstract

The main objective of this paper includes the calculation and dimensioning of the biological wastewater treatment plant with activated sludge using the SBR system for the case of continuous and discontinuous water inflow. The aim is to show how important the time parameter of the entire cycle is, as well as duration of individual phases, for the treatment process in terms of load, reactor and pre-tank dimensions, pump and decanter capacity, required amount of oxygen, mass of sludge to be removed and other operating parameters.
