The use od pesticides brings various benefits – mostly economic – especially for farmers. Pesticides improve or protect agricultural yields and the quality of agricultural products. Excessive use of pesticides can lead to contamination of water, air, soil, causing negative effects on plants, animals and loss of biodiversity in general. The collection and destruction of empty packaging is done in sunc a way that it doesn`t have a detrimental effect on human health and the enviornment. Within the master`s thesis, the total quantities of sold pesticides and the calculation of pesticide packaging on the territory of the municipality of Koceljeva is given: the way of handling packaging waste in the countries of the world and Europe is presented.
