Abstract

In this paper problem of selecting and exploiting of induction motors in hazardous areas is presented. Classification of hazardous areas has been processed, which is the first step in proper selection of equipment. Different types of explosion protection induction motors are described. Reasons of increased heating for the increased safety motor. Proper selection of protection device for increased safety motor are very important and that is detailed processed. Effects of frequency converter to the drive parameters of the motor are discussed in detail in this paper.
