Abstract

This paper studies the basic characteristics of rubber as a material, the method of its production, as well as different ways of its treatment at the moment when it becomes part of the waste management system. The study of this topic was conducted by analysing different scientific papers of other authors and researchers and on the basis of a specific example of one tyre recycling plant. As the main method of waste tyre treatment, the ambient shredding method was chosen. By studying this topic, the entire process of ambient (mechanical) shredding of waste tires was analyzed and an independent conclusion was made about the importance of the researched method of waste tyre recycling.
