RESEARCH OF BRUTALISTIC ARCHITECTURAL DIRECTION ON THE EXAMPLE OF EAST GERMANY

Abstract

The car, as the backbone of this work, becomes a prism through which scientific observations, attitudes and parallels will be refracted related to the topic of the lifestyle of an individual in a certain social order. The choice of social order in this paper is related to the East German car brand "Trabant", which is synonymous with a time, society and lifestyle formed in it. A policy that leads to a change in the complete structure of society, which then entails a change in political and state boundaries within which new architecture, urban solutions are formed, adapted to the new situation, then remodeled public and residential space that dictates a new culture of living or everything reversed, will be questions which are the topics of this paper and which will be tried to be seen and answered through this research. This work also draws attention to the occasional superficiality of people in their approach to useful objects, so it is so easy to allow some almost timeless products, sometimes with the harsh assessment of relevant critics at a given moment, to quickly become symbols of low-quality goods. An attempt will be made to find an answer to the question of why people's compliance with prejudices, consumer society and cyclical fashion trends is easily allowed, and whether all together, one thing arises from the other and one initiates the other and whether everything revolves in a vicious circle.
