Abstract

The Мaster thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical section explains the definitions of BIM (Building Information Modelling), the workflow in BIM software, as well as dimension and applications in the world. Special emphasis is places on its use in the mechanical sector, specifically in HVAC (Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) deign. The steps for creating an efficient HVAC system using BIM are presented first theoretically and then through an example, utilizing Revit and LINEAR software. A comparison is made with traditional design methods using IntegraCAD and 2D AutoCAD software to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of this approach, as well as the overall contribution of BIM technologies.
