Characterization of the offset printing effluent was carried out through the determination of the organic load profiles and the hydrocarbon index of the waste fountain solution using the gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric method and the gas chromatography method, respectively. The paper aim is to investigate the possibility of removing organic pollutants from the waste fountain solution using adsorption with activated carbon.
