The paper deals with passive optical networks and their types. The Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) and its benefits are specifically considered. In addition, the paper deals with the construction of an optical access network in Ruma, where the construction of an optical cable and the connection of miniIPAN / IPAN devices in the part of city are discussed.
