Abstract

At the very beginning, an overview of how plastics are managed in the world is given. Then, the paper defines the phenomenon of microplastics, lists and describes the sources of microplastics, as well as the impact of microplastics on the environment and the living world. Sampling methodology and laboratory analyzes are described in one of the chapters of this paper. The results of the experiment directly indicate the presence of microplastics in the wastewater from the landfills, and further analysis of the results provided the amount of microplastics detected in the samples.
