The goal of this study is to evaluate the effect of 3D spatial sound on user’s immersion feeling in virtual environment, as well as to explore the methods which improve this effect. Spatial audio should convincingly place sounds in a VR space so that the user perceives the sounds as coming from the real physical objects from the scene. Well placed spatial sound provides user a better knowledge of VR space of the simulation and it considerably helps with the orientation in the scene. Sound is one of the main tools to achieve the feeling of absolute presence in VR, and in this study, that is demonstrated by specially designed 3D VR scene in Unity game engine.
