The paper presents methods for the analysis of the calorific value of waste, which is the most important characteristic of waste, in addition to the morphological composition of waste, because by knowing the calorific value of waste, it is possible to design a waste treatment plant. The most common methods currently practiced for estimating the calorific value of municipal solid waste are equations derived from experimental research or the direct use of laboratory devices (calorimetric bombs). The paper presents methods and equations and arranges research with equation one which proved to be the best equation for the physical composition of waste.
