A responsible company builds responsible employees, and human resource management plays the most important role in that. The responsible employees inevitably lead the company to success. In order to examine the role of human resources management in defining the responsibilities of employees, a survey was conducted in the public sector in Serbia. The survey included 153 respondents. The results of the research confirmed the research hypotheses - that there are developed strategies for the development of human resources and that human resources management has a significant role in defining the responsibilities of employees in public enterprises in Serbia.
