Abstract

The paper presents a detailed dynamic model of an asymmetrical six-phase squirrel-cage induction machine that takes into account higher spatial harmonics of the field, i.e. higher harmonics of inductance of the coil. The model parameters are determined using the FEM model of the machine. By applying the formed model the characteristic transitional procceses and working steady regimes are analysed with particular emphasis on the advantages of a more complex model over convention models that take into account only the fundemental spatial harmonics of the field.
