Abstract

Cooling plants are huge consumers of electrical energy and their optimization is critical in terms of energy usage. This paper is focusing on one example of cooling plant optimization. Based on calculated cooling requirements and actual energy consumption for one calendar year, optimization of cooling plant by using wet bulb temperature as set point for head pressure was researched and compared. Calculation displays that it is possible to achieve electricity consumption reduction by applying this method and that savings are around 7 %.
