Abstract

In today's world, when the Internet has become a daily routine, equally important as water or air, thanks to DOCSIS technologies, cable companies must meet the bandwidth and speed requirements, they need to support new applications and be able to deliver more megabytes, faster, broadband Internet, reaching downstream speeds of 10 Gbps and upstream up to 1 Gbps. As the revenues generated through the cable distribution network take a significant share in the structure of revenues generated from fixed broadband Internet access (41.3%) as well as in the structure of revenues generated from the distribution of media content (59%), cable distribution systems are very important for the telecommunications market of the Republic of Serbia.
