Abstract

This paper covers research on Esri shapefile data format which is used for storing spatial data and how spatial data is defined in CIM. Posibility of conversion of geospatial data defined in CIM to Esri shapefile is also researched. As a result of that research an application is developed named CIMToShapefileConverter which is able to convert geospatial data of power grid defined in CIM version 16 to shapefile data format. CPU usage of application has been analyzed, and resulting shapefiles were tested in QGIS.
