CONVERSION OF A FORMER TANNERY BUILDING INTO THE CRAFT CENTER

Abstract

This project demonstrates the economic and cultural value in the adaptive re-use of heritage buildings. It is a conversion into the craft center which will along with „Svilara“ and Academy of Arts work as a unique cultural district. Currently the object is used by the Serbian National Theatre, and that preserved him from decay. The idea is to preserve the current function, save one building, and the other replace with a new one. New content will be added, that will lead  to symbiosis between young and experienced people.
