Abstract

With the application metal working fluids (MWF) in the metalworking industry, MWF aerosol is formed. These MWF aerosols represent a health risk for workers and must be effectively removed from the workplace. Coalescence filtration is often used to remove MWF aerosols. In this work, the possibility of using stainless steel fibers as a filtration layer for the separation of MWF aerosol is investigated. Stainless steel fibers have proven to be relatively good in coalescent filtration for this type of separation.
