SOCIAL HOUSING AS A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS OF THE VULNERABLE CATEGORIES

Abstract

Nowadays, housing represents a complex discipline in architecture wich meets one of the basic human needs - the need for existence, safety and physical protection. The aim of this paper is to anticipate a new housing complex that will be accessible to all, and meet the current needs of people. The paper deals with the analysis of social housing concepts, target groups, as well as the analysis of social housing problems in our region today. The residential complex is located on the coast of the river Bosna in the town Doboj. Several case studies of social housing in the world, which represent original solutions to the problem, have been analyzed. They also deal with the subject of flexible spaces that can be customized for different user purposes. The conclusions of the research work served as a guideline when designing a new complex.
