Abstract

The aim of this research is the development of a solid theoretical base for the design of the Atmosphere archive, whose notion is the experience of the spatial manifestations of atmospheres. In order to fully understand the logic of the archive, a research into atmospheres, phenomenology and algorithmic design in architecture was carried out. Following that, specific atmospheres were defined and analysed, after which rooms containig one of those atmospheres were designed. Finally, the form and function of the archive was determined using the Python algorithm. The aim of the design process is the creation of a building which is primarily based on atmospheres; usually neglected in architecture; furthermore, a creation of spaces that enable a new experience and perception of one’s immediate surrounding.
