Abstract

The paper consists of two parts. The first part of the paper is a theoretical research part with the topic „Application of solar energy for reducing energy needs of residential buildings" – which describes usage of solar energy and its conversion in various solar systems. Application of solar systems to residential buildings, in order to increase energy efficiency, is also described. In the second part of the paper, a visual macroscopic examination of the building was performed, with the goal of determining the existing condition for a multi-storey family house in Sremska Kamenica. An energy efficiency calculation, as well as attic floor upgrade, was performed for the familly house. Based on energy efficiensy  calculation, visual inspection and attic floor upgrade, remedial measures that increase the durability of the building, energy efficiency, as well as its compliance with the Rulebook on energy efficiency, are given.
