Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present and compare three approaches to solve the problem of distribution network reconfiguration, which are based on mathematical and heuristic optimization methods. First, this paper presents mathematical optimization model for the distribution network reconfiguration which is based on the mixed integer programming. Then, the paper presents branch exchange method and the method based on simulated annealing, which represent heuristic and meta-heuristic methods used for the distribution network reconfiguration respectively. All presented methods are verified on the example of real distribution network and the results are presented and discussed in the paper.
