IMPACT OF VOLTAGE REGULATION ON DISTANCE PROTECTION OPERATION
Abstract
This paper presents an example, through which the impact of voltage regulation and different effects on distance protection are considered. In order to ensure high quality delivery of electrical energy, the electrical grid must be built so that even at the highest loads it can perform its function, in addition it must be resistant to faults and disturbances, in other words, it must eliminate them fast enough and reduce the duration of power outages to an economically justified measure. The paper lists and explains the types of line protection, modern distance protection functions and applications, details of regulating transformers and gives an analysis of examples.
