Abstract

The subject of the Master’s thesis research includes the application of "Mono-Strand" and "Multi-Strand" systems in post tensioned building slabs, comparative analysis of actual and theoretical values of cable elongation, and justification of single live end cable elongation reduction. By processing the statistically obtained data, empirical expressions for the calculation of cable (with smooth ducts) elongations were derived, as the function of length change (5-55 m). An average elongation per meter of cable length was adopted, and an elongation graph was established as a function of cable length change with the infimum, supremum and characteristic elongation values by considering the tollerance of ±7%. A comparative analysis of the elongation tolerance criteria was performed according to ACI, BS EN, and PTI standards.
