REVIEW OF DECONTAMINATION MEASURES OF WORKING WITH HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES

Abstract

The paper contains of decontamination measures when working with hazardous substances. Decontamination is the process removing chemical, biological and other substances which have dangerous characteristics, from clothing and equipment. This process is performed according to a precisely determined order - according to the decontamination plan. This plan includes three phases: defining the organizational structure, work plan and security plan. Most of the work is dedicated to safety measures that are taken to prevent injuries when working with hazardous substances. An overview of the hazardous materials management system in the Republic of Serbia is given, as well as recommendations for the improvement of this system.
