Abstract

The paper discusses the application of wind energy to obtain electricity. The principles of operation of wind generators and wind power plants are presented. The project of a wind farm in southeastern Banat is described and the assessment of wind energy levels in that area is performed. Based on the data of wind speed measurements at 60 m height, calculations were made for the formation of a wind farm with turbines of 3 MW with a hub height of 110 m. The power and production of such a wind farm were analyzed and appropriate comparisons were made.
