ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVE FOR TRANSPORT AND STORAGE OF MOLASSES

In this paper, an electric motor drive for transport and storage of molasses is discussed. The selection of protective equipment is described and the calculation of permanently allowed currents and voltage drops when selecting the conductors for powering induction motors in operation is shown.. The selection of adequate frequency converters and soft starters for the appropriate induction motors was also performed, as well as the selection of the appropriate programmable logic controller. Finally, an explanation is given of how and in what way the motors are started in operation using the control panel, service and local control boxes.
