THE INFLUENCE OF PERSONALITY TRAITS ON JOB SATISFATION

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to determine if there is existence of the influence of personality characteristics on job satisfaction. This association was examined on 95 respondents, men and women with age differences (age of the respondents is from 25 to 60 years). This research was conducted in the banking sector. Two questionnaires were used in this study: the Spectrum scale for measuring job satisfaction for the variable job satisfaction and the Big Five Inventory instrument for examining personality dimensions. The obtained information was processed in the statistical program SPSS. The results of the questionnaire revealed the existence of influence on certain dimensions of personality, among which Agreeableness is dominant, but also the weakness of influence of certain dimensions of personality, among which are Neuroticism and Openness to new experiences. In addition, the elements of the influence of age on job satisfaction were confirmed as well as the assumption that gender differences do not have a great impact on job satisfaction.
