Abstract

Proof of capacity for seismic actions is performed via nonlinear static analysis („pushover“), which Eurocode gives as an alternative for linear methods of analysis, but as well as for performance verification of existing buldings. While analyzing capacity, damage (DL), ultimate (SD) and near colapse (NC) limit states were considered. The first part of the thesis consists of technical description of the structure with a reference to the method of design of structural elements. Second part consists of theoretical chapters about provisions of Eurocode 8-1 and 8-3, means of analysis of structures exposed to seismic actions and about ways of modeling of masonry structures. Practical part shows nonlinear static analysis and conclusions, based on the obtained results, and justification of provisions for simple masonry structures and prescribed values of behaviour factor by Eurocode 8.
