Abstract

Eurpean norms brings novelties when it comes to design of reinforced concrete walls in seismic areas, compared to the so far applied national practice. This paper presents an overview of the basic rules for analysis, reinforcement and detailing for local ductility of ductile walls, designed for medium (DCM) and high (DCH) ductility class, according to modern principles given in Eurocode 8.
