Abstract

The problem analyzed in this paper is econo­mic dispatching as well as its solution through a genetic algorithm. Economic dispatching implies finding the opti­mal load redistribution between units in operation to achieve minimum operating costs while respecting system constraints, i.e., economic dispatching involves determi­ning the production power of available generator units so that total operating costs in the system are minimal.
