This paper describes in detail the classical and modern methods of collecting data on the Earth 's surface, and the emphasis is placed on collecting data by unmanned aerial vehicle. The process of data collection by phases is described, as well as their subsequent processing in two different software - Agisoft Photoscan and Pix4Dmapper. As a result of processing in these software, a point cloud, a digital terrain model and a digital orthophoto were obtained. Terrain models were formed in two basic structures (GRID and TIN), and the quality analysis was performed in the MatLAB software package.
