Abstract

The paper presents the principle of Ink Jet printing with an emphasis on piezoelectric activation. The EVOLVE EVOeight graphics system with a Seiko RC 1536 series recirculation print head was used for printing. For the needs of the research, a test map of the increase of tonal values on matt and glossy wall tiles in four different resolutions was created and printed: 150 dpi, 200 dpi, 250.83 dpi and 360 dpi. Measurements of CIE Lab values, color differences, increase in tonal values, optical density and whitenees and yellownees were performed. The analysis of measurements and results of characteristics of ceramic tiles according to the standards used for checking the quality of tiles was also performed. The aim of the research is to see how the principle of Ink Jet printing is used for the decoration of ceramic tiles, as well as the assessment of print quality, analysis and comparison of samples using appropriate methods, ISO standards and devices
