The subject of the paper is the operation of centrifugal pumps with high-viscosity and non-Newtonian fluids. The paper itself is divided into six chapters whose goal is to bring this topic closer to the reader. Through the chapters is shown theoretical introduction that includes the basic concepts of the fluids, their divisions and characteristics, clasifications of pumps used for high-viscosity and non-Newtonian fluids with basic working principles. After introduction the reader is presented with the basic elements that affect the characteristics of the pump and calculation of the pump and pipline characteristics for a given system working with water, high-viscosity fluids and non-Newtonian fluids as well as the effects of fluids on pipeline characteristics. In the last chapter a reader is presented with a brief conclusion.
