RESEARCH OF THE POSSIBILITY OF MAKING PRINTING ELEMENTS OF FLEXO PRINTING FORM USING DLP 3D TECHNOLOGY

Flexo printing technology is experiencing the greatest innovative technological expansion and having in mind its importance for the printing industry and on the other hand 3D printing technology, which is currently flourishing, there is a need to test the possibility of creating flexographic printing plates with 3D printing technology. Within this paper, the possibility of making flexographic printing forms of appropriate thicknesses, with satisfactory reproduction of printing elements in the form of lines and dots of appropriate widths and diameters, by DLP (Direct Light Processing) 3D printing technology, was investigated. Based on microscopic images of reproduced printing elements and the measurements of the diameter and width of printing elements in the appropriate software and analysis of their reproduction accuracy, the potential possibilities of production as well as shortcomings were pointed out.
