The task of transport models is to describe traffic flows in the best possible way. In order to distribute flows on the network and apply existing distribution models, it is desirable for the network, that is, area research, to analyze the impact of travel time on traffic flows of certain types of sections of the street network at average traffic flow speeds. One of the most important variables of the model is the V/D function (Volume/Delay Function), which defines the ratio of travel time depending on the ratio of flow and capacity of the section. The V/D function is a mathematical model used in traffic models to forecast traffic demand, to account for the effect of increased vehicle flow on travel times between different points on the road network.
This paper presents the results of the research carried out on a specific section of the road network in Novi Sad, that is, the analysis of the basic parameters of the traffic flow measured in the research area.
