This paper describes the basic methods of charging lead-acid batteries. Additionaly, the development of the switching grid-connected converter simulation model is presented. Averaged models have been developed in order to monitor the charging and discharging processes. These models are numerically less demanding. At the end of the paper, the simulation results are given to confirm the performance of the presented models.
