Abstract

This master thesis is about the reliability analysis of optical fire detectors in public facilities, as part of the system for automatic detection and alarm in case of fire. These systems are one of the key measures to reduce the risk and consequences of fire. Elements that affect the reliability of the system have been identified and analyzed, all with the aim of protecting and saving human life and health, material goods and the environment.The preventive measures for improvement of detectors’ reliability are proposed.
