In this paper, the concept of internal model controller for robust current control of induction motor drive is analysed. IMC based current controllers represent an alternative approach to the classical control schemes with the emphasis on the improvements of cross–coupling compensation characteristics of plant model and simplified design procedure. Performance verification of the aforementioned control scheme is presented in form of simulation results on the simplified induction drive plant model.
