This master thesis deals with the restoration of the Kovač family castle in Riđica, which is a registered cultural asset, and the development of its local and touristic potential. Based on the analysis of the context, the existing situation, case studies of three architectural practices, measures to protect the building and future users, a building was designed that would include all functional and programmatic requirements and provide an additional contribution to the authenticity and identity of Riđica, layind fertile ground for the development of the tourism, economy, and hospitality and increasing the standard od living of the local population and beyond. Restoration of monuments or architectural units is a method od active protection of architectural heritage.
