Abstract

As part of the Master's thesis "Durability of concrete composites with a high proportion of agricultural waste", an own experimental research on the possibility of using corn cob ash as a replacing cement material in the design and production of green concrete was conducted. This thesis consists of a research and a practical part. The research part includes the properties that affect the durability of concrete, the design of durability according to the EN 206 concrete standards, as well as the requirements for the durability of concrete. The practical part refers to the need for sustainable construction, as well as the possibilities of using various waste materials. Special attention was paid to the use of corn cob ash as a substitute for cement in concrete, which is the main topic of this paper. The availability of this material in Serbia was investigated. The characterization of the material was carried out, as well as the testing of the properties of fresh and hardened concrete.
