Abstract

In this study metallographic macro testing was conducted on samples in order to evaluate the quality of welded joints according to the standard SRPS EN ISO 15614-1. A visual inspection of the surface of the material can only provide an idea of the structure, so metallographic tests are performed, among other reasons, to identify macro and microstructural defects and to test the metallographic structure in the characteristic zones of the welded joint: weld metal, HAZ and base material. As a consequence of not knowing the welding parameters due to the lack of supporting documentation, it is impossible to determine the exact causes of defects in welded joints. For this reason, in the analysis of the macro sections, assumptions are made about the causes of the resulting defects.
