DETERMINATION OF ANTENNA PARAMETERS AND ADJUSTMENT TO THE REMAINING PART OF THE CIRCUIT

Abstract

This paper presents the measurement of antenna characteristics and the determination of its parameters to ensure compatibility with the balun circuit and the remaining part of the circuit. As an example, a device with a ZigBee transceiver, which operates at a frequency of 2,45 GHz, was analyzed. The antenna parameters were measured using a vector network analyzer (VNA) and then adjusted using a balun circuit. The elements of the balun circuit were determined using the SimSmith simulation program. After adjusting the balun circuit, the results of the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) measurement were considered.
