The paper presents the synthesis of an alternative low-cost adsorbent for efficient separation of the residual levels of the emergent compound from wastewater. The efficiency of the implementation of the given separation medium was examined on the case of naproxen, a pharmaceutics that appears at a low concentration level in a large number of waste and surface waters. A new methodology for the synthesis of an alternative adsorbent was studied. The results of the paper show a kinetic and equilibrium study of the adsorption process, as well as the degree of adsorption efficiency of the selected emergent substance with the synthesized medium.
